Uses :
PYRITHIONE-ZINC shampoo is good for
normal hair and offers effective
control of persistent dandruff. As
the active ingredients is 2%
PYRITHIONE-ZINC it also reduces
flaking and itching caused by
dandruff. This agent helps kill the
microscopic fungus associated with
dandruff.
Administration :
For best results, use at least twice
a week as directed by a doctor.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with eyes. If contact
occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with
water. Keep this and all drugs out
of the reach of children.
Form :
Plastic bottle contains 150ml

KETOCONAZOLE 2%

Uses
This medication is used to control dandruff.
KETOCONAZOLE shampoo is indicated for the
treatment of tinea versicolor and dandruff.
Tinea (pityriasis) versicolor may give rise to
hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation patches on
the trunk which may extend to the neck, arms and
upper thighs. Treatment of the infection may not
immediately result in on individual skin type
and sun exposure. It is not contagious because the organism
is part of the normal skin flora. In viro studies suggest that KETOCONAZOLE impairs
the synthesis of ergostrol which is a vital
component of fungal cell membranes . It is
assumed that the therapeutic effect in tinea
versicolor is due to the reduction of
Pityrosporum Orbiculare (Malassezia Furfur) and
the therapeutic effect in dandruff is due to the
reduction of Pityrosporum Ovale.
How to take this medication ?
Wet hair and scalp completely using water. Apply
enough shampoo to product sufficient to clean
hair and scalp. Massage gently over scalp for
approximately one minute. Rinse hair with warm
water. Repeat this process only leave the
shampoo on the scalp for 3 minutes. Dry hair
thoroughly after the second rinse. Be sure to
thoroughly rinse after use. The shampoo should
be used twice weekly for 4 weeks with at least 3
days between each shampooing. It can then be
used intermittently depending on the response of
the condition. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Side effects
This medication may cause abnormal hair texture,
scalp pustules ( pimples ), dry skin and
itching. There may also be oiliness and dryness
of the hair and scalp. Rarely, there may be some
hair loss. Inform your doctor if these should
persist or worsen. Also inform your doctor if
there is any chemical sensitivity to the
shampoo. If you notice other effects not listed
above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing
conditions, such as : illness, any allergies.
This medication should be used only if clearly
needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and
benefits with your doctor. It is not known if
this medication appears in breast milk. Consult
your doctor before breast-feeding.
Usage
Tinea versicolor : Shampoo for five successive
days on local area.
Dandruff : use every five days.
Contraindication
This shampoo is contraindicated in persons who
have shown hypersensitivity to the active
ingredient or excipients of this formulation.
Interactions
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or
prescription you may take, especially : hair or
scalp products. Do not start or stop any
medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Overdose
This shampoo is intended for external use only.
In the event of accidental ingestion, supportive
measures should be employed. Induced emesis and
gastric lavage should usually be avoided.

Each plastic bottle contains 100ml KETOCONAZOLE
2% red-pink liquid shampoo. normalization of pigment
