At this moment Shafa Pharmaceutical Co. works with two separate distributive companies all around the country, Hejrat company and Iran Drug Co.

a) Hejrat Distributing Company

Hejrat distribting company is founded on 6 December 1964 as ((Tehran pharma company )) and before Islamic revolution of Iran was active in importing and distributing of pharmaceuticals, laboratory devices , cosmetics and hygienics.

On 2 September 1979 , according to Act of Islamic revolution council , bureaucrat managers were elected for this company, then, on 4 February 1980, according to complementary Act of Conservation and Development of Industries, 94 % of company and its management were given to National Industry Organization of Iran. On 7 April 1983, its name was changed To (Hejrat distributing company) and its activity was in importing and distributing pharmaceuticals, laboratory devices ,cosmetics and hygienics ,as before.

Now , stock holders of this company are : Tehran – chemie (24/4%),
Aburaihan (18/8%), Alhavi (18/8%), Parsdarou(18/8%), and Farabi (18/8%) Pharmaceutical Companies.

Hejrat distributing Company with 17 distribution centers in Iran has a nationwide distributiion network and it is active in the promotions , sales and distribution of the following products :

- Drugs ( Prescription , OTC , Generics , ….)
- Biologies ( Interferon , …)
- Medical devices
- Hygienics

b) Iran Drug Company

Iran Drug Co . Ltd ,a pharmaceutical trading company ,was stablished in 1965 in Tehran ,Iran by five founders . It soon secured agency appointments for the following American & European companies in Iran :
1- Whitehall International pharmaceutical , a division of American Home products , U.S.A
2- Chemi Linz pharmaceuticals , Austria .
3- Ludwig Huemann pharmaceutical ( presently Huemann pharma ) ,
Germany .
4- Ebewe Arzneimittel pharmaceutical , Austria .
5- George Dralle , Germany ,producers of hair and hygienic products .
6- Lidarina , Denmark , producers of baby formula and other food products .
7- International Chemicals , Britain ,producer of pharmaceutical and hygienic products .
8- Wilkinson Sword Company ,Britain , producer of shaving blades .
9- Picot Company Britain ,producers of fragrance products .
10- Nilodor Company ,Canada ,producers of odor neutralizing products .
11- One-Drop-only Company ,Germany ,producers of mouth wash products.

In 1979 following the Islamic revolution in Iran , the state took over all imports of pharmaceutical & Hygienic products in Iran and the activities of private sector was limited to manufacturing and production only .
Presently Iran Drug Company distributes a wide range of pharmaceutical & Hygienic products in Iran and the activities of private sector was limited to manufacturing and production only .
